The Social Media & Content Creator is the driving force behind how our brands show up in the world every single day. This role owns the creation, execution, and evolution of content across JUNK Brands, Outdoor Cap, and Legendary Headwear, shaping how each brand connects with its audience through powerful storytelling and high impact visuals.

This person is equal parts creator, strategist, and operator. They build and manage the content calendar, bring marketing campaigns to life through social, and create content that drives reach, engagement, conversion, and follower growth. From fast moving trend driven content to polished campaign assets, this role understands how to meet each platform where it is strongest and extract maximum performance.

This role is expected to consistently produce 6 to 10 pieces of original, custom content per week, in addition to adapting and modifying existing digital advertising creative for effective use across social platforms.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on creator who can shoot, edit, and publish content at a high level while also thinking strategically about how content ladders up to brand and business goals. They are deeply tuned into social trends, comfortable using modern creative tools including AI assisted workflows, and committed to maintaining brand standards across multiple distinct brand voices.

This role sits at the center of brand expression and digital growth, working closely with marketing, creative, and leadership teams to ensure our brands remain relevant, engaging, and impossible to ignore.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Create high impact photo and video content for social media, digital marketing, and e commerce across all three brands
  • Shoot and edit content that aligns with each brand’s unique identity while maintaining a consistently high creative standard
  • Produce 6 to 10 pieces of original content weekly across formats including video, photo, and short form assets
  • Adapt and modify existing digital ad creative for social media placement and performance
  • Develop platform native content that feels authentic, engaging, and optimized for performance
  • Write compelling captions and short form copy that drive engagement and action

Content Calendar & Campaign Amplification

  • Build and maintain a structured content calendar that supports product launches, campaigns, and ongoing brand storytelling
  • Translate marketing campaigns into engaging social executions that extend reach and impact
  • Ensure consistent posting cadence and alignment across platforms and brands
  • Balance planned content with real time opportunities driven by trends and cultural moments

Social Strategy & Platform Optimization

  • Understand the strengths and limitations of each social platform and tailor content accordingly
  • Leverage trends, formats, and platform behaviors to maximize visibility and engagement
  • Continuously test, learn, and refine content strategies based on performance insights
  • Use social media as a tool to drive awareness, engagement, conversion, and follower growth

AI Tools & Creative Innovation

  • Utilize AI tools to enhance and modify images and content where appropriate
  • Stay current on emerging tools and technologies that improve content quality and speed
  • Blend traditional creative skills with modern workflows to increase output and effectiveness

Brand Standards & Voice

  • Uphold and execute brand pillars, visual standards, and messaging across all content
  • Adapt tone and creative approach to fit JUNK Brands, Outdoor Cap, and Legendary Headwear individually
  • Ensure all content reinforces brand identity and positioning

Community Engagement

  • Engage with audiences across platforms through comments, messages, and interactions
  • Build authentic connections that strengthen brand loyalty and community presence
  • Identify opportunities to feature customers, athletes, and partners within content

Performance & Reporting

  • Track content performance across platforms and campaigns
  • Use analytics and insights to inform creative direction and posting strategy
  • Identify what is working and scale those learnings across brands

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • 3+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Proven experience shooting and editing both photo and video content
  • Proficiency in creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar platforms
  • Experience using AI tools for content enhancement is a plus
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, formats, and performance drivers
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating a wide range of content capabilities across platforms is required

Physical / Mental Requirements

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate information in a clear manner
  • This role splits time between desk-based customer service work and active retail floor duties; must be able to alternate between seated and standing positions throughout the day
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods during retail shifts and events
  • Domestic travel up to 10-15% for events and brand activations
  • Ability to move 10-20 lbs. occasionally throughout day; occasional lifting of up to 40lbs in a retail or event environment
  • Able to hear a telephone ring
  • Must be able to visually differentiate colors
