Responsible for overseeing Domestic product development execution for their respective network. They collaborate with various networks/departments to ensure delivery of product sampling, main production and provide sales/sales support excellent customer service. They demonstrate the ability to interact effectively and liaise with diverse teams including but not limited to (Production, Operations, and Retail Product Development) to exceed established internal and external customer experience. The Product Specialist intern maintains pricing and product details to ensure compliance, licensing and customer regulations are met while staying ahead of global factors that might impact delivery. They are responsible for managing the timelines of their individual product's life from introduction to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps select factory partner or program by customer product based on knowledge of factory capabilities, program offerings and production output
  • Domestic – helps select styles/technique offerings within project pricing and lead time parameters and guidelines.
  • Submits orders and accurately communicates product specifications with factories
  • Ensure all product information is received and correct for on-time delivery
  • Monitors, logs and revises changes to incoming/outgoing samples, changes to pricing, tracking and production sheets
  • Communicates changes in a comprehensive way to Design to meet production and/or customer requirements
  • Accurately quotes and implements pricing for customer projects to maximize profits
  • Develops and maintains strong, trusted advisor relationships with assigned accounts and customer stakeholders. Be a Cap Expert.
  • Individual leadership, time management and multi-tasking skills to operate in fast paced environment with shifting priorities, with demonstrated flexibility to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience establishing / maintaining collaborative, mutually successful relationships, delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs. Ability to deliver multiple projects at a time, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills, with ability to communicate to / influence key stakeholders.
  • Understands and articulates customer needs and opportunities to enhance customer experience and help grow sales.
  • Implements accurate fabric specifications, size grading rules and construction/labeling requirements
  • Monitors, logs and revises changes for all compliance, licensing and customer requirements
  • Provides Licensing department with design assets and/or samples to receive Licensor approval prior to showing customers
  • Executes color standards matching before production
  • Prepares product samples for customers, sales meetings and internal sales reviews
  • Participates in quality check and sample approval process before sending for production approval
  • Keeps all necessary parties informed of updates on project status and timeline changes
  • Archives and retires product samples as needed
  • Must be present and working during the assigned 8-hour shift between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Highly proficient with verbal and written communication; adept to exchange accurate information and engage in conflict resolution strategies
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated) 80% of the day and occasionally reach, bend and move inside the office to access files and product.
  • Adapt to moderate noise (Example: collaborative team environment, office with computers, printing and light traffic)
  • Ability to move 10-25 lbs. occasionally throughout the day
  • Able to hear a telephone ring
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform computer tasks and operate other office machinery
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

Computer Proficiency

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Computer Software including Word and Excel; Outlook; must have the ability to become proficient in internal PDS system and Salesforce.

Education and Experience

College degree and or equivalent work experience
