Our Traffic/Technology Team is at the forefront of developing innovative solutions for traffic management, signal systems, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). With a proven track record of excellence, we are dedicated to improving traffic operations, safety, and pedestrian circulation for cities and communities.
As a Licensed Traffic Engineer on our Traffic/Technology team, you will lead and perform traffic impact studies for data center developments, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal transportation requirements. This is a client-facing role, where you will engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to deliver high-quality solutions. You will analyze roadway networks, intersections, and access points to assess impacts and propose mitigation strategies.
What you'll do:
- Lead traffic impact analyses for data center developments, including trip generation, traffic modeling, and capacity analysis.
- Prepare technical reports for permitting, development approvals, and transportation planning.
- Design and evaluate roadway improvements, intersection design, and access management using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, transportation planners, clients, and regulatory agencies to develop traffic mitigation strategies.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of any Olsson office location.
Qualifications

You bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
- 4–10 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or traffic impact studies.
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software: Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present findings to clients and agencies.
- Experience with data center projects, industrial developments, or large-scale commercial projects (preferred).
