Description

In this crucial role, you will play a key part in shaping the overall Nuqleous Retail Analytics product. As a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer, you will gather, analyze, and present data to help stakeholders make informed business decisions. In this role, you will design and develop reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights clearly. You will also collaborate with business customers to understand their needs and ensure that the data is transformed into actionable intelligence to drive strategic planning and operational improvements. The Business Intelligence Engineer is expected to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that align with the Nuqleous objectives.

Your Day-to-Day Role

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze complex datasets to extract key insights and trends that can drive business strategies and decision-making.
  • Reporting & Dashboards: Design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics.
  • Data Gathering & Cleansing: Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity before analysis.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with product, marketing, sales, and other teams to understand business goals and identify opportunities for leveraging data to support these goals.
  • Data Modeling & Queries: Build and maintain data models to enable efficient querying and reporting, using SQL or similar languages to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
  • Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc data analysis based on requests from stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations and insights.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze business performance metrics, identifying areas of improvement and supporting optimization efforts.
  • Data-Driven Recommendations: Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders to help improve business processes, increase efficiency, or capture market opportunities.
  • Documentation & Data Governance: Document BI processes, definitions, and reporting standards while ensuring adherence to data governance and security policies.
Requirements

Your Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in a BI analyst or data analysis role.
  • The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., MicroStrategy(Strategy), Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for creating insightful reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., C#, Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Exposure to databases and big data platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Google Big Query, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Strong understanding of database management and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools.
  • Experience with Collaboration Tools is a plus (Teams, Slack, Skype).
  • Experience with Development Methodologies and Agile Project Management Tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello)
  • Ability to gather, clean, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools and methods for data extraction.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning or predictive analytics techniques is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and provide actionable recommendations.
