Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Overseeing a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies.
• Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the work of the clinical laboratory and coordinating it with the other areas of the hospital
• Acting as the technical supervisor for clinical laboratory functions off site and owned by the hospital
• Assuring that the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements (ADP, ABABA, JCAHO, CELIA)
• Hiring and managing performance of direct reports

Key qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree in medical technology, chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW); or employment as a laboratory supervisor prior to January 1, 1995 in a hospital licensed by the Dept. of Health.
• 5+ years of experience in this field or a highly related one preferred
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
• MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent is preferred
