The Social Worker MSW responsibilities include:

  • Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and initial discharge plans for patients.
  • Refer patients, clients, or their family members to community resources to meet each individual’s needs.
  • Provide advocacy and crisis counseling for individual patients and their families.
  • Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
  • Provide group counseling sessions that are age and developmentally appropriate.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Masters degree in social work
  • LMSW or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Evening and weekend availability.

Our Inpatient Behavioral Health Service offers 77 beds for adults (18 years of age and older) that are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis and present a danger to self, danger to others, and/or grave disability as a result of their mental illness. Our typical patient population consists of individuals with mood, thought, and or co-occurring conditions that require interventions with medication, therapy, and observation.

This position functions primarily in the psychiatric acute inpatient space of the hospital, assisting patients who are experiencing an immediate mental health crisis and require acute stabilization and treatment.

Overall, Northwest Health provides inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic imaging, medical, surgical and emergency services to the Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, Johnson and Siloam Springs communities in northwestern Arkansas.
