Job Description

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Welcoming every patient with a smile
  • Treat people with kindness
  • Provide assistance for patients
    • getting messages to clinical staff
    • signing out paperwork, letters, and samples
    • help with forms, if needed.
  • Check in patients for appointments
    • Verify information
    • Scan insurance cards and photo id
    • verify insurance eligibility
    • collect patient co-pays/past balances
    • print applicable forms
  • Check-out patients
    • Schedule follow-up appointments (including labs)
    • Collect Self-Pay payment difference, if applicable
    • Acknowledge patients as they leave
  • Phone Calls
    • Remote check in for telehealth
    • Reminder appointment phone calls
    • Answering phone calls/warm transfers

People working in this position are the first and last interaction our patients have in the clinic, so it needs to be a good one. We expect every patient to be greeted warmly when they enter the facility and acknowledged politely when they are leaving.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a supervisor and/or manager. High school diploma or equivalent. Requires 1-2 years of customer service experience in any field and 0-2 years in healthcare or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
