The Protein Room Processing Technician is responsible for the efficient packing, processing, and quality control of poultry products while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment to support the mission of providing nutritious food to those in need.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, inspect, and sort incoming poultry products.
- Package poultry items according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Safely operate processing equipment and machinery.
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and freshness of poultry products.
- Identify and address issues with packaging or product quality.
- Follow strict food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Work with team members to achieve daily production goals.
- Assist in cross-training team members for job flexibility.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols in the processing room.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
- Record processed product quantities and quality control actions.
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is required/
- Previous experience in food processing, warehouse operations, or a similar environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating food processing equipment is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for operating and troubleshooting processing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and safety.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and other departments.
- Basic record-keeping and documentation skills for tracking production and reporting issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist in cross-training and job flexibility.
