The Enrollment Specialist (Admissions) at NWACC Washington County is responsible for accurately reviewing, verifying, and processing college credit admissions documents in accordance with institutional policies and state and federal regulations. This position plays a vital operational role in the admissions process in the admissions process by ensuring student records are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner. The Enrollment Specialist works as part of a collaborative, cross-trained Enrollment Services team, sharing knowledge, supporting team priorities, and adapting to changing policies, procedures, and enrollment cycles while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency. Although the position provides customer service and collaborates with other departments, the primary focus is administrative processing, document review, and supporting students through the admissions process by ensuring their records are accurately maintained. This position is housed at NWACC Washington County, reports to the Director of Admissions, and is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institutional policy.

Essential Duties:

  • Reviews, evaluates, verifies, and processes high-volume admissions documents, including high school transcripts, equivalency credentials, and supporting materials, to determine completion of admission requirements in accordance with established procedures
  • Performs accurate data entry and maintains indexes and retains admissions documents in the college’s student information and document management systems while safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of student records.
  • Interprets and consistently applies admissions policies, enrollment requirements, document intake standards, and applicable state and federal regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Provides timely customer service through established communication channels by responding to inquiries, resolving admissions-related issues, and supporting students through the admissions process
  • Collaborates with Admissions, Enrollment Services, High School Relations, Records, Financial Aid, and other campus partners to support departmental priorities, student enrollment, persistence efforts, and continuity of service
  • Generates and maintains reports; supports testing and troubleshooting of technology and systems; and identifies, documents, and implements improvements to admissions procedures, processes, and best practices
  • Maintains current knowledge of Enrollment Services resources, software, testing procedures, websites, and academic schedules; participates in cross-training and professional development; and adapts to changing policies, technology, priorities, and enrollment cycles
  • Works independently and collaboratively to manage multiple priorities and meet processing timelines; maintains regular professional attendance and positive working relationships; works flexible hours during peak periods; travels periodically between NWACC Washington County and the Bentonville campus; and performs other duties as assigned in support of departmental and college goals

Rate of pay $18.55 per hour*Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Experience providing administrative support, records processing, customer service, or related office experience
  • Experience working with computer systems, databases, document management systems, or data entry processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience working in higher education, admissions, enrollment services, or a student services environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of higher education admissions processes, enrollment services operations, campus resources, and applicable institutional, state, and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of student information systems, document management systems, reporting tools, and related technology used to support admissions operations
  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply policies, procedures, and requirements while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and apply institutional policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to review, evaluate, and verify information from multiple sources, identify discrepancies, and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Ability to compile, organize, and analyze information for reporting, documentation, and operational needs
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, procedures, technology, and enrollment needs while maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and campus partners

The work environment is a shared office setting with regular interaction from students, staff, and campus visitors. The level of activity and noise may vary depending on daily operations, enrollment periods, and student service needs.
