The incumbent supports administrative and instructional activities across the Adult Education program. This individual will assist adults with the enrollment and assessment process, collect and report student data, assist with admissions, assessment and instruction days and evenings in various locations on campus. This individual will assist the Dean of Adult Education with data collection and review, reporting, recruitment and retention, social media, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Dean of Adult Education. This is a fulltime, twelve-month position. This is a Provisional Grant Funded Position.

Essential duties

  • Welcome new students and visitors to the Adult Education Center in person, online and on the telephone providing general information as needed. Maintain ongoing communication with community organizations, state and federal agencies, business, and industry and WIOA partners.
  • The individual is responsible for the student admissions process. The individual responds to new student inquiries, receives student intake forms, enters student data into LACES, creates student files folders, schedules students for the initial assessment, and schedules students for orientation.
  • Assist with the administration of all assessments including TABE, TABE CLAS-E, GED Ready, Official GED, and Accuplacer face-to-face.
  • Maintain complete and accurate student files, inventory and maintain office supplies, assist with duplicating and general office support as needed.
  • Completes the required training in Assessment, Learning Disabilities, Literacy, Adult and Community Education System (LACES), Career Pathways, and other workshops as determined by the Arkansas Department of Career Education.
  • Ensures validity and accuracy of student data across assessment software and the state agency data system. Monitors student data and communicates with teachers and students for post-testing.
  • Researches and analyzes data pertinent to student performance measures. Prepares reports explaining findings impacting future funding.
  • Assists with the program’s evaluation process by gathering information, reviewing files, researching data, conducting surveys and interviews, and compiling annual reports.
  • Support daily operations of the program as directed.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Rate of Pay $17.34 hourly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of department operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to plan and execute systems and organizational analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews.
  • Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports.
  • Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops.

Required Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in public administration, general business, or a related field.

Additional requirements determined by the institution for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
