THE POSITION:
The Behavior Intervention Specialist Manager oversees all operational aspects of the Behavior Intervention program at the assigned Hope School Project site. This leadership role includes direct supervision of on-site staff, coordination with school administrators, and implementation of trauma-responsive, neurobiologically-informed behavioral support practices. The Manager engages students in strength-based planning, supports staff development, ensures data-driven decision-making, and builds collaborative relationships with school, family, and community stakeholders to foster a safe, restorative, and inclusive school climate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior support plans using neurobiologically and trauma-responsive strategies.
- Observe students in various settings (classrooms, lunch periods, school activities) to assess behaviors and recommend effective interventions.
- Develop and manage data collection processes.
- Provide in-classroom modeling, coaching, and consultation to educators on trauma-informed practices and behavioral interventions.
- Provide positive behavioral support to K–12 students using strength-based, trauma-informed strategies.
- Engage students in developing effective coping skills, replacement behaviors, and social-emotional competencies.
- Coordinate coaching schedules, classroom support services, and family engagement activities.
- Supervise BIS staff and Family Intervention staff through regular check-ins, evaluations, and team
- meetings.
- Support staff in applying trauma-responsive classroom practices and restorative discipline alternatives.
- Monitor student behavior and teacher progress; ensure data is collected to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Facilitate communication with partner schools and community agencies to maintain aligned systems of student support.
- Contribute to professional development sessions and staff training workshops focused on trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Collaborate with the Team to refer students to appropriate school or community-based supports when additional services are required.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes as needed.
- Maintain all documentation related to behavior plans, interventions, and progress monitoring.
- Participate in and facilitate school-based safety and behavior committees.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with students and families.
- Complete administrative duties such as timecards, emails, and staff scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the Hope School Project and its students.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- Registered Behavior Technician or other Behavioral certification.
- Minimum 3 years of school-based or behavioral intervention experience.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and positive behavioral supports.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- 21+ Years of age.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Basic knowledge of Google and other database programs
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to: computers, telephone systems, calculators, and copiers

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands
The demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Tasks may involve walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must pass all criminal history and child maltreatment background checks.
- Must submit to pre-employment a drug screen as well as random drug screens when directed.
- Valid driver's license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record required to drive shelter vehicles for shelter business.
- Must maintain confidentiality and privacy regarding all Children’s Shelter residents' information in accordance with NWACS policy and all applicable Federal and state laws/regulations.
- Attend and participate in mandatory training, staff meetings, and all other events, as required.
- Set, maintain, and communicate appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per NWACS procedures.
