THE POSITION:

The Development Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes Individuals, 3rd Party Events, and In-Kind Donations. This involves identifying and cultivating individual donor prospects, and planning and executing special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

To include but not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans to achieve the organization's financial goals and objectives.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, supporters, and key stakeholders to secure financial support and strengthen the organization's donor base.
  • Identify and qualify prospective donors through prospect research, networking, and donor engagement activities.
  • Create compelling fundraising appeals, solicitation materials, and donor communications that effectively communicate the organization's mission, impact, and funding needs in collaboration with the communications and marketing team.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to engage donors, raise awareness, and generate revenue.
  • Collaborate with other departments to engage and execute fundraising activities and events.
  • Develop and monitor fundraising budgets, revenue projections, and performance metrics to track progress toward fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in fundraising, philanthropy, and nonprofit management to inform strategy development and enhance fundraising effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Exceptional Communication: Ability to articulate the organization's mission, goals, and needs clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences (donors, sponsors, stakeholders) through both written and verbal communication.
  • Relationship Building & Management: Proven ability to build, cultivate, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders. This includes expertise in networking and donor portfolio management.
  • Strategic Fundraising: Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive fundraising strategies and plans that align with organizational goals and resources, including setting realistic targets and identifying new opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable years experience.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in a non-profit, fundraising, communications, sales / client services, or comparable experience.
  • 21 years of age or older
