Description

NEW POSITION: As part of our continued growth we are adding a Coaching and Program Manager to support our residential care staff and the youth we service!

THE POSITION:
The Coaching and Program Manager manages staff training, enforces compliance, and supports program development to provide high-quality trauma-informed care while maintaining licensing requirements, safety protocols, and staff support.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all practices are designed and implemented in alignment with trauma-informed principles, ensuring that safety, trust, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural responsiveness are prioritized in every aspect of our work.
  • Train new and existing staff in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), licensing requirements, and Trauma-Informed Advocacy and Care Techniques (TACT).
  • Provide ongoing training, evaluation, and professional development support for staff.
  • Develop and implement an orientation and shadowing program, ensuring new hires receive on-the-job training (OJT) during their first three months.
  • Assign and monitor training courses through Paycom, verifying timely completion and certification.
  • Track and maintain training schedules, including First Aid/CPR, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Trauma-Informed Advocacy and Care Techniques (TACT), as well as annual recertifications.
  • Support staff in managing difficult resident situations and provide additional behavioral training as needed.
  • Enforce compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Foster communication across shifts and teams to ensure consistency in resident care.
  • Collaborate with case managers to assess resident needs, implement individualized plans, and support personal growth.
  • Provide direct support to residents as needed, assisting with behavior management and crisis intervention.
  • Oversee staff tasks to ensure services align with resident needs and Shelter objectives.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for residents.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of intake, discharge, database entries, and all required documentation.
  • Manage medication storage, administration, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Support program planning and advocate for resources to enhance care quality and sustainability.
  • Provide coverage support for team leads and youth care specialists
  • Participate in the Management on-call rotation following on-call policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Twenty-one years of age or older
  • High School Diploma Required
  • 3+ years of experience working with at-risk youth, or foster care setting
  • 3+ years of experience in providing on-the-job training
  • Physical ability to use authorized techniques for the management of aggressive behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in human service or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with children with trauma
  • Experience exercising Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Therapeutic Aggression Control Techniques (TACT)

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Basic knowledge of Google and other database programs
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to: computers, telephone systems, calculators, and copiers
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal skills, and strong communication
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

The demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.

  • Physical stamina and agility are required to care for children of all ages
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Tasks may involve walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting for long periods, both indoors and outdoors
  • Physical exposure to communicable diseases/contagions and head lice
