Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000 – $52,000 (Salary)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Job Summary:
Maynard Incorporated, a family-owned aerospace manufacturing company in Fayetteville, AR, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to support the procurement of goods and services necessary for production, shop, and office operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently and in compliance with all specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple procurement tasks in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Quoting:

  • Process purchase requests for production, shop, and office supplies
  • Review reports to determine purchasing needs
  • Research product and service requirements to ensure compliance with drawings, contracts, and specifications
  • Identify and qualify vendors capable of fulfilling requirements
  • Prepare, send, and manage Requests for Quote (RFQs)
  • Analyze and summarize vendor quotes to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate quote records and update ERP system or spreadsheets as needed

Purchase Order Management:

  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders and related documentation
  • Verify vendor acknowledgments and follow up on order status
  • Update purchase order records in ERP system, including notes, commit dates, and revisions
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding delivery schedules, changes, or issues
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve non-conformances and receiving issues

Administrative & Vendor Management:

  • Maintain and update vendor records, contact information, and procurement data
  • Organize and store quotes, communications, and purchase documentation
  • Research and onboard new vendors as needed
  • Support data entry and system updates related to purchasing activities

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while working independently as well as with a group
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Effective communicator via phone, email, and in person
  • Capable of independently managing priorities and adapting to shifting demands
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and occasional out-of-state travel

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in purchasing or procurement; aerospace experience a plus
  • Background in fields requiring precise data entry and documentation (e.g., manufacturing, retail, accounting, legal, etc.)

Work Environment:

  • Office-based position with standard physical and environmental conditions
  • Some exposure to production areas may occur
