Overview

The PRN Ultrasound Tech is responsible for administration and coordination of the Ultrasound department and all its functions. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Works with Imaging Director to maintain ACR accreditation. Demonstrates initiative, insight and judgment in the decision making process. Performs diagnostic ultrasounds and a high level of image quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic sonogram procedures as required: achieve a high level of image quality
  • Be observant for film artifacts and keep them to a minimum
  • Obtain patient history as needed
  • Act as an agent to obtain radiologic information to aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment
  • Be proficient in the technical operation of ultrasound equipment; use proper care in handling equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a certified Radiological Technology Program and/or a certified Ultrasound program, RDMS certification
  • Plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
