Overview

The Laboratory Assistant works as a phlebotomist, specimen processor and also gets samples ready to send to reference laboratories.

Clinic hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. No nights, major holidays or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting samples, checking in patients, and other phlebotomy area duties. This duty is performed as needed
  • Take telephone messages and responds appropriately. Deliver, telephone, or fax reports. This duty is performed daily.
  • Process and prepare samples for Home Health, shipping, add-ons, and storage. This duty is performed daily.
  • Scan and maintain files of appropriate laboratory documents. This duty is performed daily.
  • Be proficient in working with appropriate computer applications. This duty is performed daily.

Qualifications

  • Current phlebotomy certification is desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivelant
