KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Oracle DBA to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c databases along with Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle ASM environments
- Manage routine and disaster recovery backup and restore procedures (RMAN and via third party tools like Rubrik)
- Resolve complex problems with little or no guidance; independently research and promote specialized technical solutions
- Complete performance Tuning and problem resolution for root cause
- Perform code migration among different environments
- Implement DB security
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of recent experience managing complex Oracle Database deployments; In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Oracle 19c, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM, RMAN, AWR, ADDM, and OEM
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Excellent SQL and DB performance tuning skills; strong knowledge of Unix including Linux and Solaris operating systems; experience in managing and administering PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL is a plus; knowledge of Windows Operating Systems is a plus
- Experience applying Oracle quarterly patches and Upgrading Oracle databases
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity for troubleshooting and performance tuning; knowledge of cloud concepts and services; outstanding project management skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong verbal/written communication, analytical and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; ability to support and participate in 24x7 on call rotation which may include evenings or weekends when required
