Job Summary:

Under general direction, the senior Manager, Engineering and Technology is responsible for overseeing multiple teams within the technology organization, providing leadership, strategic direction, and technical oversight to ensure successful delivery of technology initiatives. This role involves managing complex projects, collaborating with senior leadership, and driving innovation and process improvements across the teams. The Senior Manager will play a key role in shaping the technology strategy and ensuring alignment with the overall business goals while fostering a culture of growth, development, and high performance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads, manages, and develops multiple teams of Engineering and Technology personnel with at least 1 manager AND/OR high-level individual contributors Builds relationships and collaborates with inter-department stakeholders to support team effectiveness. Includes partnering with senior leadership, product, and/or program management to define project roadmaps and long-term goals. Ensures team adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards by coaching employees in required practices or applying corrective actions Provides guidance and mentorship to team members and mid-level managers. Focus on developing leadership skills, technical expertise, and career growth within the teams.
  • Conducts regular check-ins with team members to provide feedback, discuss goal progress and address any performance-related issues promptly and professionally
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team effectiveness and productivity. Use data-driven insights to drive improvements, remove barriers, and achieve performance goals.
  • Participates in the budgeting process in the technology department, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and within financial constraints. Strategically identifies opportunities for cost-savings. Deploys resources to optimize quality and output.
  • Contributes to and influences technical decisions for teams
  • Addresses critical issues or blockers of complex problems with minimal guidance from leadership. When necessary, escalates to senior leadership, clearly articulating the issues and risks
  • Provides both strategic and tactical planning, ensuring that project efforts meet overall business objectives
  • Continuously evaluates and improves processes, workflows, and tools to maximize team efficiency and productivity. Promotes automation and other innovations that drive operational excellence.
  • Leads high priority incidents resolution and resulting long term solutions, drives communication, clarity and process changes with stakeholders and leadership. Proven ability to reliably identify, recruit, and nurture top talent by assessing technical skills, cultural fit, and potential for long-term growth. Actively builds a pipeline of high-performing individuals to support organizational needs and scalability.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration/Management, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience, and training WITH at least 3 years of experience in an Engineering and Technology role AND WITH at least 2 years of experience managing a team or 5 years of experience in an Engineering and Technology role WITH at least 2 years of experience managing a team
  • AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
  • Knowledge of and experience with methodologies, tools, and techniques for managing software products at all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of techniques to successfully effect change in an organization and ability to manage the successful and smooth transition from current to desired culture, practices, structure, and overall organizational environment
  • Knowledge of successful performance management techniques and ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of available internal and external learning resources and ability to address learning, training, and career development needs of individuals, teams or organization.
  • Knowledge of the talent acquisition process and ability to participate in the process of recruitment of permanent and contract personnel, achieving optimal match between candidate and position.
  • Knowledge of techniques to successfully effect change in an organization and ability to manage the successful and smooth transition from current to desired culture, practices, structure, and overall organizational environment.
  • Ability to build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven influence skills to guide decision-making, drive cross-functional collaboration, and align diverse teams around shared goals. Capable of managing complex negotiations and influencing without direct authority to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the talent acquisition process and ability to participate in the process of recruitment of permanent and contract personnel, achieving optimal match between candidate and position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign equivalent, or suitable combination of education, experience and training WITH 7 years of Engineering and Technology experience WITH at least 4 years of experience managing an Engineering and Technology team

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
