Job Summary:

Under routine supervision, the incumbent is responsible for monitoring gate transactions at multiple J.B. Hunt locations that have a Remote Security Operation (RSO) designation. This position is responsible to ensure that company assets are protected relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues. This position creates accurate logs of gate transactions, routinely monitors remote sites to identify unusual or suspicious activity, and reports identified discrepancies, issues, and noncompliance to chain of command.

• 6pm - 6am Thursday - Saturday, and every other Wednesday
• This role is in office, remote work not available
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Use selected systems to verify driver and equipment assignment at all remote security sites with the designation “RSO Heavy”; correct driver entry errors and advise on how to proceed
• Speak with drivers to gather information and help them navigate the security process to confirm authorization and security access to be able to exit the facility with their equipment; perform audits to detect and report equipment that has exited facilities without proper assignment
• Comply with site-specific remote security projects that collaborate with key J.B. Hunt business partners to ensure that gate transactions involving their equipment is efficiently handled
• Regulate traffic flow at remote security sites, regardless of Heavy or Light designation; resolve traffic back-ups in a timely manner to avoid safety hazards
• Adhere to security systems, technologies, operating standards, and procedures; continuously monitor and perform initial troubleshooting for existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks, fraud, and functionality
• Work with internal teams to resolve routine issues at remote security sites (i.e. Issues with Shop Status, gate operation failures, etc.)
• Advise proper driver access codes based on available information in J.B. Hunt systems at remote security sites with the designation “RSO Light”
• Log all driver assignment discrepancies and equipment issues that have been cleared by the team lead/management as an exception
• Verify and log all outside carriers pulling J.B. Hunt assets to ensure compliance with company policy
• Follow procedures for department initiatives, including, but not limited to, emergency evacuation and traffic/crowd control for on campus events

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED with up to 1 year of experience in security, logistics, or related field, and/or suitable combination of education, experience, and training, or military equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in safety management
• CPR Certification
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
• Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
• Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisions
• Ability to work both individually and as a team
• Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations to provide excellent service
• Interest in learning new technologies/software applications
• Knowledge of basic employee safety procedures and programs
• Willingness to work night shifts

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
