Job Summary:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for carrying out and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of compliance programs and services aligned to one or more functional areas (e.g., Employment / Labor Advisory, International). The incumbent collaborates with internal & external stakeholders to respond to business and/or employee needs. The incumbent has demonstrated performance, proven enterprise compliance strategy execution, and cross-functional influence.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director with design and execution of effective processes to monitor J.B. Hunt compliance with its equal employment and affirmative action obligations under applicable law.
  • Facilitate collaboration among and between the corporate talent acquisition group, corporate driver personnel, inclusion department, and the business for the design and execution of effective processes that support compliance with J.B. Hunt’s equal employment and affirmative action obligations under applicable law.
  • Assist the Director to establish and maintain routine processes to monitor state and Federal labor and employment laws that are relevant to J.B. Hunt. This would include new regulations as well as changes to existing regulations.
  • Assist the Director in conducting research of state and Federal labor and employment laws as they relate to ongoing compliance by J.B. Hunt.
  • Assist the Director with drafting internal policies that are consistent with state and Federal labor and employment laws. Work with applicable J.B. Hunt management to obtain all necessary approvals for new policies or amendments to existing policies. Execute effective communication of policy changes to all affected employees.
  • Assist the Director with the design and execution of the annual HR Compliance Project Plan.
  • Complete assigned projects designed to audit for J.B. Hunt compliance with specific state and Federal employment laws, Company policies, human resource practices and procedures, and other requirements as considered necessary. Such projects will include, but not be limited to, reporting the results to appropriate J.B. Hunt management and designing recommendations for improvement to existing processes, if necessary.
  • Assist the Director with the design and delivery of quality training to J.B. Hunt management covering state and Federal labor and employment laws that are relevant to the Company.
  • Assist the Director in conducting internal investigations of alleged violations or non-compliance with J.B. Hunt policies and/or applicable state or Federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with applicable management to conclude such investigations, communicate results, and make recommendations regarding employment action, if necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by Human Resources management.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience Human Resources, Legal, &/or Business Administration
  • Three years of work experience in OFCCP compliance

AND/OR demonstrated ability of the following skills through education, certifications, or other experiences:

  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to adapt to the business needs of a dynamic, growing organization
  • Ability to analyze and interpret HR policies
  • Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums
  • Ability to deliver informative presentations to employees at all levels in the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Human Resources Certification through HRCI or SHRM
  • Travel approximately 15% - 25%

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
