Highlands Oncology began in 1996 with three physicians and a desire to change the face of oncology care in our community. Dr. Malcolm Hayward, Dr. Dan Bradford, and Dr. Thad Beck knew that patients do better at home, in the community where they live and work, and where their support system is already in place. Job Summary: Level 1 Clinician with 0-6 +years of experience that performs diagnostic ultrasound images, produces documentation, and shares essential information with health care personnel to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Facilitates diagnostic results by obtaining, reviewing, and bringing together pertinent patient history, physical examination, and supporting clinical data.
- Determine test procedures by reviewing the purpose of the examination. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic function, and images.
- Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Comforts patients by explaining procedures and assists with proper positioning.
- Uses highly technical sonography equipment to produce images of structures inside the body.
- Performs quality control tests.
- Effectively communicates with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and radiologists.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintains a clean working environment.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Reports and documents all malfunctions and/or needs for service on all equipment, including troubleshooting problems, calling for service, and communicates the problem to all pertinent team members and supervisors.
- Performs other diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice.
- Trains new employees.
- Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.
- Assists the Research Department with clinical trial scans.
- Performs other duties, as assigned by supervisor or manager.
