Job Responsibilities:

• Engineer has the ability to lead a client/client team (1-5 staff), small to medium projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in equipment design and power systems studies; as well as solve most design challenges that arise on a project.
• Engineer can work in an independent manner on several project and/or client types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
• Engineer can perform power systems studies for distribution systems, including short circuit evaluations, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard analysis and incident energy mitigation independently with minimal oversight from Power Systems Engineer or Power Systems Team Lead.
• Engineer can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.
• Engineer should be able to apply their knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other national standards to most project types, with minimal to no oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
• Engineer will review equipment submittals with little to no oversight from Power Systems Electrical Engineer
• Engineer will be involved in technical communications with the customer and/or vendor

Job Duties:

• Engineer will develop skills and begin to be efficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
• Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to electrical design, NEC, NFPA 70E or other national standards.
• Engineer should be proficient in SKM Systems Analysis and can perform power systems studies and evaluate any systems.
• Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with other Engineers to develop construction documents and power systems studies based on a clients' requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions.
• Engineer will be able to perform a high level of quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
• Engineer will have direct client contact.
• Engineer will establish project budgets, with the approval of Power Systems Team lead, and work to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
• Engineer could serve as Engineer of Record, with approval from Director or Executive, on simple project or rollout clients.
• Engineer will be licensed in less than 5 states.
• Engineer should be able to write specifications for most project types.
