HFA is seeking an experienced Kitchen Designer to join our growing, employee-owned firm delivering best-in-class design solutions across the U.S. This role involves leading commercial & retail kitchen projects from concept through construction, collaborating with chefs, contractors, and our in-house architecture and engineering teams.

Ideal candidates will have strong Revit skills, experience with AutoQuotes and KCL, and a solid understanding of equipment selection, health codes, and permitting processes. The ability to manage multiple projects, communicate clearly with clients, and deliver accurate construction documents is key.

Job Responsibilities:

Proficient in all job responsibilities below:

  • Kitchen Designer has broad experience with a variety of client and/or project types to have gained experience to lead projects for any client or project type
  • Communicate and present design options and alternates to clients
  • Efficiently produce accurate construction documents with minimal supervision by reviewing own work
  • Develop specifications for kitchen drawings and equipment
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Work with municipalities to secure building permits
  • Respond to Contractor Request for Information
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent
  • Maintain compliance with scheduled milestones established by Design Team Leads
  • Collaborate with all disciplines to cross-coordinate all aspects of design

Job Duties:

Proficient in all job duties below:

  • Familiarity with KCL by Revalize, Sketchup, Revit, Autoquotes
  • FCSI membership preferred
  • Familiarity with menu creation/working with a chef and developing the associated equipment selections.
  • Utilization of Autoquotes to deliver competitive pricing options to clients.
  • Knowledgeful and Experienced at production of kitchen design construction documents and schedules in Revit software.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout design and construction process
  • Lead kitchen design efforts & decision making process for kitchen design across multiple teams & programs.
    • Present & meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences and budget for kitchen remodeling or new installations.
    • Establish project milestones with Design Team Leads
    • Conduct periodic progress meetings with Design Team
    • Work with contractors or manufactures to resolve issues affecting construction cost, schedule and design intent
  • Identify changes in project scope that require additional services and manage modifications to the contract in conjunction with Design Team Leads
  • Maintain positive work environment within firm that facilitates cooperation, teamwork, and staff morale.
  • Deliver detailed and competitive quotes using tools like autoquotes and manufacturing pricing.
  • Oversee the placement of equipment on site and coordinate project close-outs with final warranties and instruction manuals.

Job Qualifications

Education Requirements: Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design

Past Experience: 5-8 years experience working as a kitchen consultant on Hospitality and Entertainment industry projects.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: None required, CKD certification by NKBA preferred.
