Description

HFA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to lead and support the design of mechanical and plumbing systems for a key client with facilites with a national footprint. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC Systems, mechanical codes, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will contribute to project success through technical expertise, team leadership, mentoring and effective client communication. Job Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Engineer has the ability to lead a client/client team utilizing their experience and education in HVAC design, plumbing design and energy codes; as well as solve most design challenges that arise on a project.
  • Engineer should have good understanding of energy codes and their impact on building design. Engineers should have a good understanding of energy modeling and analysis.
  • Engineer can work in an independent manner with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer.
  • Engineer should have good understanding of HVAC systems and controls.
  • Engineer can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.
  • Engineer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects.
  • Engineer should be licensed and have experience functioning as an Engineer of Record.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to HVAC design, plumbing design, or other national standards.
  • Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions.
  • Engineer will be able to perform a high level of quality control and serve as the Engineer of Record.
  • Engineer will have direct client contact.
  • Engineer shall be or will become licensed multiple states.
  • Engineer should be able to write specifications for most project types.
  • Engineer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects.
