Are you a recent mechanical engineering graduate or early-career designer ready to make your mark in the AEC industry? HFA is looking for a Mechanical Designer I to join our collaborative, people-first team working on exciting retail projects across the U.S.

As part of a multidisciplinary firm, you’ll contribute to a wide variety of project types—from new construction to innovative reuse—and grow your skills under the guidance of licensed engineers and industry experts.

What You’ll Do:
🔧 Assist in HVAC and plumbing system design for building projects
📐 Create and develop construction documents using mostly Revit, maybe AutoCAD
🤝 Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other design pros
🛠 Apply national codes (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE) with oversight as you grow
📅 Execute project production schedules and support design delivery
🌱 Gain exposure to project management and client interaction as you develop

What We’re Looking For:
✅ Mechanical Engineering degree or 1–5 years of relevant design experience
✅ Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team
✅ Familiarity with design software like Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace (bonus!)
✅ Passion for buildings and technical excellence
