Refrigerated "Reefer" Trailer Technician

SUMMARY: The Reefer Technician will be responsible for all aspects of repair to the refrigeration units. Technician must possess a complete understanding of all aspects of Transport Refrigeration systems operation, maintenance, and repair. This will include, but not be limited to engine and power plant service and repair, refrigeration service and electrical system repairs. Other duties may be included at the shop manager’s discretion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform selected repairs on equipment including both truck and trailer mounted, single and multi-temp reefer units.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area and environment. Including but not limited to cleaning shop equipment, floors, and fluid containment areas
- Must possess adequate hand tools required to perform routine repairs and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years of automotive, refrigeration, and/or maintenance or equivalent relevant experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- 18 years or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must have current EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Type II) or ability to obtain
- Preferred
- Technical School Training
- Commercial Driver’s License
