What You'll Do:

  • Tax Expertise: Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns while applying an advanced understanding of tax laws, regulations, rulings, and legal precedents.
  • Client Service: Develop strong relationships with clients, understand their needs, and provide responsive, high-quality service.
  • Team Leadership: Serve as a resource and leader within the tax team by answering questions, solving problems, training team members, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Review & Quality: Perform high-level reviews of individual and complex business returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Research & Problem Solving: Research tax issues, support transaction reviews, and develop practical solutions to complex tax matters.
  • Project Management: Manage assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision while following Firm practice management procedures and maintaining high-quality work.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on tax law changes, industry trends, and emerging issues while continually expanding your technical knowledge.
  • Professional Development: Maintain required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and actively develop the technical, leadership, and interpersonal skills needed for continued career growth.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Five or more tax seasons of public accounting experience.
  • Experience with multistate taxation.
  • Experience serving agribusiness clients is preferred.
  • Experience working at a mid-sized or larger public accounting firm is preferred.
  • Proficiency with CCH Axcess, CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, CCH AnswerConnect, and other tax preparation and research software.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons.
