The Opportunity:

At Frost, our Accountants serve as advanced-level professionals who combine deep technical accounting knowledge with strong client service skills. This role focuses on delivering accurate, timely financial services to our clients while supporting internal quality control and guiding junior staff when needed. The Accountant is trusted to manage complex engagements with minimal oversight and contributes to the firm's commitment to excellence in outsourced accounting.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle accounting duties with a high degree of independence and accuracy.
  • Review and finalize journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of payroll, sales, and franchise taxes.
  • Maintain complete and accurate trial balances and supporting documentation.
  • Review monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client questions, standard reporting requests, and issue resolution.
  • Assist with onboarding and transitioning new clients into Frost’s accounting systems and processes.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to Accounting Services Staff.
  • Collaborate with supervisors on workflow planning and quality control for assigned accounts.
  • Proactively identify issues or discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial data.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a combination of education and experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (online and/or desktop); QuickBooks Certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex bookkeeping tasks independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work on-site preferred.
