Compensation Range: $17.45-$26.20

Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Position Summary:

The Research & Evaluation Assistant supports the execution of research and evaluation projects across Crystal Bridges and the Momentary, as well as with external partners. This entry-level role is essential to the day-to-day operations of the Research & Evaluation team, contributing to data collection, project coordination, and reporting. The Assistant plays a key role in supporting the COVES initiative (a collaborative system for collecting museum visitor experience data), ensuring smooth communication and workflow across multiple museum partners. This position offers a unique opportunity to build foundational skills in research, evaluation, and data-informed practice in a museum setting.

Principle Responsibilities:

Project & Workflow Coordination

  • Coordinate onboarding, data collection, and reporting processes for COVES partner museums, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Schedule and support virtual trainings, track partner materials, develop internal documentation and support payment processing.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and resolve or escalate workflow issues as needed.

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect survey and interview data from guests at Crystal Bridges, the Momentary, and external partner sites.
  • Support data entry, cleaning, and basic analysis using descriptive statistics and visualizations.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Schedule and prepare materials for internal and partner-facing meetings.
  • Manage supplies and logistics for data collection activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education, Training, and Traits:

  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, comfort with SOP development and process documentation preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required; Preferred experience with survey platforms (e.g. Qualtrics) and project management tools (e.g. Asana)
  • Experience with data collection methods such as interviews, surveys, or structured observations and basic qualitative or quantitative analysis, such as coding open-ended data or calculating frequencies and means.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish written and verbal abilities preferred.

Work Experience:

  • One to three years’ experience in research, evaluation, or data operations, in a museum or cultural organization preferred.

  • Physical demands: In the work environment described below, position requires ability to communicate with others. Position requires utilizing a computer for prolonged periods of time and good eye/hand coordination. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
  • Work Environment: The majority of work will be performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations will be reviewed and evaluated should exhibitions exceed noise levels. Occasional weekend, evening and night work hours also required.
