Job Description:

Position Title: Temporary Guest Experience Associate

Position Type: Seasonal/Temporary

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Division: Operations

Department: Guest Experience Manager

Reports to: Guest Experience Supervisor and Guest Experience Manager

Compensation Range: $15.00 - $20.76

Position Summary:

Join the Museum as a Temporary Guest Experience Associate, providing excellent guest experience to museum guests as we host world class experiences. This position provides outstanding customer service to all guests and members during our events, exhibitions, and experiences. This role includes monitoring admission and membership-related activities, greeting guests, serving as a resource for guest and membership questions, and being a museum ambassador, whose goal is to create a warm, invigorating experience to exceed our guest’s expectations. Event staff will perform these functions primarily for our North Forest Experience but will also provide a support role to all other events at both Crystal Bridges and the Momentary. This role is primarily evening and weekend hours and will be focused on outdoor activities.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all members, guests and colleagues at Guest Experience locations throughout the event and/or experience
  • Interact directly with guests and Members, utilizing prepared scripts regarding each experience at locations throughout the North Forest Lights, and serve as a resource during the guest’s visit
  • Maintain an organized appearance of all locations
  • Ability to be patient and flexible while also staying energized and focused on providing excellent customer service
  • Relay information to members and guests about current and future exhibitions, events, programs, and museum amenities
  • Become proficient with the Tessitura software program, N-Scan ticket scanners and Quest admission tablets used for ticketing and tracking guest attendance
  • Accurately and efficiently conduct guest transactions during events and special exhibitions
  • Assist guests with visit and ticket options and suggest suitable solutions
  • Keep informed on new and current information regarding museum offerings, products, policies, as well as software and ticketing systems
  • Balance individual (own) cash drawer at the end of each shift and always follow cash handling procedures to ensure accurate accounting of all revenue
  • Assist Guest Experience Manager to research and successfully resolve guest experience issues
  • Maintain an organized appearance of all Guest Experience locations and ensure that all materials and information displayed are current and well stocked
  • Assist with Guest Experience oriented tasks during special events, previews and at other times as requested

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow the Guest Experience dress code (black pants, provided blue polo, black shoes) to be identified as a staff member
  • Complete all other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skills required for the job
  • Ability to recognize customer service concerns and address professionally
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Ability to use good judgment
  • Attend all necessary staff meetings and communicate concerns as well as solutions to problems
  • Assist with events and daily operations at both Crystal Bridges and The Momentary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED and similar experience preferred.
  • Associate degree from an accredited institute of higher learning preferred.
  • Enthusiasm about being a team member at a new major performing arts venue with a strong visitor-centered community dynamic.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality. This role includes evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to be patient and flexible while also staying energized and focused on providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to use good judgement.
  • Ability to recognize customer service concerns and address professionally.
  • Good command of general computer applications and basic math skills
  • Minimum 6+ months of experience in customer service or related industry preferred
  • Prior experience working with computerized cash register system and accurately balance a cash drawer preferred

  • Physical demands: Position requires working in Momentary Galleries for prolonged periods of time. This position requires standing, walking and climbing stairs, bending and stretching, and physical stamina to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted. Position requires utilizing a computer for prolonged periods of time with good eye/hand coordination. This position requires visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job
  • Work Environment: The majority of work will be performed in Momentary and Crystal Bridges spaces with some outdoor assignments, as needed. Additionally, Strong communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with a wide range of Momentary members, visitors, volunteers and staff.
  • Position requires ongoing flexibility in work hours due to events, staffing needs and other factors.
