Position Title: Manager, Arts in Health and Wellbeing

Reports to: Director of Public Programs
Compensation: $55,800 - $60,000
Position Overview: At Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and The Momentary, we believe in harnessing the transformative power of the arts to promote holistic health and wellbeing. Our commitment extends beyond our museum's walls, as we create innovative programs and partnerships that integrate art into community and healthcare settings. Anchored by our pillars of art, architecture, and nature, we are expanding our public-facing spaces and welcoming new initiatives to our 122-acre campus, including the Heartland Whole Health Institute (HWHI) and the Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM). Together, we are dedicated to exploring wellbeing in innovative ways to foster holistic impact across our ecosystem.
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Manager for our Arts in Health and Wellbeing Programs to join our Learning and Engagement division. Working under the direction of the Director of Public Programs, you will lead the creation and implementation of innovative programs and partnerships that utilize the arts to enhance health and wellbeing. From designing experiences within our museum and campus to collaborating with community and healthcare organizations, you will spearhead initiatives that embody our mission of integrating art into diverse facets of life. Core Functions:
- Design and implement impactful arts in health and wellbeing programs and initiatives.
- Forge strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions, community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the integration of arts into medical curriculum in collaboration with AWSOM.
- Develop arts programming in healthcare settings to enrich patient, community, and staff experiences.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on arts in health and wellbeing, guiding program development and implementation across the organization
- Work closely with the Learning and Engagement Division to align programming with broader institutional goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., art therapy, public health, arts administration).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program development and implementation, preferably in the arts and health sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of leading practices and research in arts in health.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Arkansas driver’s license with clean driving record; willing and able to travel for program development and facilitation.

Physical demands: Regularly, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel independently regionally and in communities served. In the work environment described below, position requires working at a desk and utilizing a computer and a telephone, good eye/hand coordination, bending and stretching, standing and sitting in the ability to move around galleries, the classrooms, and throughout the museum, including travel on the outdoor trails. Visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job.
Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, museum galleries, art studios, outdoors on the trails, and in communities served. Some evening and weekend hours are required. While performing this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the Museum work environment is typically low to moderate.
