What You’ll Do

As a Fuel Systems Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams on projects involving fuel storage and dispensing systems. Throughout this 11-week internship program, you will:

  • Assist with fuel system layouts and underground storage tank design
  • Support piping and equipment coordination efforts
  • Attend site visits and observe construction progress
  • Review applicable codes and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams
  • Assist with construction documentation and permitting support
  • Learn about fuel infrastructure systems and energy-related projects

Software & Technical Skills You’ll Learn

Interns will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard mechanical engineering software and tools, including:

  • AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam Revu
  • BIM coordination tools
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Fuel system design and coordination workflows

Qualifications

We're looking for driven students who are eager to grow their professional skills, contribute to real-life, meaningful projects, and be a part of a talented team. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:

  • Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Interested in fuel systems, infrastructure, and energy-related engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player
  • Eager to learn in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary AEC environment

Work Location

This is an onsite position based out of one of the following Core States Group offices: Frisco, TX or Bentonville, AR.
