What You’ll Do
As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams on projects involving life safety systems and fire protection design. Throughout this 11- week internship program, you will:
- Assist with fire alarm and fire suppression system layouts
- Support code analysis and life safety reviews
- Participate in project coordination meetings with multidisciplinary teams
- Review applicable fire and building codes
- Attend site visits and observe construction progress
- Assist with permit and construction documentation preparation
- Learn how fire protection systems integrate into architectural and MEP designs
Software & Technical Skills You’ll Learn
Interns will gain hands-on experience using industry-standard mechanical engineering software and tools, including:
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Bluebeam Revu
- NFPA standards and code review resources
- BIM coordination tools
- Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
We're looking for driven students who are eager to grow their professional skills, contribute to real-life, meaningful projects, and be a part of a talented team. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:
- Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Interested in life safety systems and code compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator and collaborative team player
- Eager to learn in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary AEC environment
Work Location
This is an onsite position based out of our Bentonville, AR office.
