Shift: This role is 2nd Shift, 3:30 PM-2:00 AMHourly Rate: $18.83 an hour

Overview:

Formed Meat Operators ensure continuous operation of the department. Ensure all equipment is working properly to provide steady flow of the line.

Coordinate with operators on any problems that may arise. Make sure all ingredients are available.

Follow procedures for making meat batches.

Notify maintenance of lead person of any problems with equipment. Make sure the power dolly check sheet has been filled out on a daily basis. Follows all safety rules and regulations.

Duties:

Grind Meat, open boxes of meat & put them on the conveyor belt to run them through the metal detector.

Record all incoming loads as they come into the department on the HACCP paperwork.

Make batches of meat in the mixer. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to cross train in all functions within the department.

Working Conditions:

Floors may be wet or slippery from product.

Working in a congested area, must be alert to pedestrian traffic, and moving equipment such as power jack and rolling tanks. Repetitive bending, lifting, scooping, reaching, heavy lifting and stair climbing. Extreme temperatures hot and/or cold.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 70 lbs safely.

Required to use a scale, thermometer and a gauge stick.

Ability to add, subtract, and multiply on a calculator.

Operating knowledge of the following equipment: Lifts, Wyler, grinder, Mepaco mixer.

Knowledge of formulas and procedures.

Tools / Work Aids:

Box knife, Gloves and liners Zahn cup, calculator, thermometer, gauge stick, scoops, buckets, shovels, scales, V-mag carts. Lock out / tag out devices

Proper clothing for hot or cold environment. Blue smocks must be worn when handling raw product. White smokes must be worn when handling cooked product.

To be able to pass test to attain a plant Power jack license.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK.

MUST BE ABLE TO READ AND WRITE ENGLISH.
