Job Summary

Community Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for our School Based Health Clinic at West Fork Elementary located in West Fork, AR This is a full-time position scheduled Monday- Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. The Medical Assistant - SBHC assists in patient care under the direction of the clinicians and SBHC System Manager, assisting in providing excellent primary health care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.
  • Obtains vital signs, measurements and laboratory tests accurately, as per protocol.
  • Obtains chief complaint and reason for visit using excellent listening skills.
  • Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness for optimal efficiency.
  • Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
  • Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.
  • Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH, CLIA, HRSA, NCQA PCMH and OSHA.

Skills

  • Proficient spelling necessary.
  • Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
  • Proficient knowledge in computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
  • Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) of clinical experience preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) of medication administration experience preferred.
