Job Summary
Community Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Women's Health & Pediatrics Clinic Siloam - Progress Ave. The Medical Assistant assists in patient care under the direction of the clinicians and Clinic Nurses, assisting in providing excellent primary health care to our patients. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday- Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.
- Obtains vital signs, measurements and laboratory tests accurately, as per protocol.
- Obtains chief complaint and reason for visit using excellent listening skills.
- Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness for optimal efficiency.
- Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
- Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.
- Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH, CLIA, HRSA, NCQA PCMH and OSHA.
Skills
- Proficient spelling necessary.
- Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
- Proficient knowledge in computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
- Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) of clinical experience preferred.
- 1+ year(s) of medication administration experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
