Job Summary

Community Clinic is seeking a Sports Medicine Technician to join our team! The Sports Medicine Technician is a dedicated clinical support professional to the Sports Medicine Clinician, working in various clinics according to the provider’s schedule. This position assists in patient care under the direction of the Sports Medicine Clinician and Clinic Nurses, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered sports medicine services. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA / RMA) credential is required for this position. Bilingual speaking ability of Spanish & English is required. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and will rotate between clinics in Siloam Springs, Springdale, and Rogers, AR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompanies and assists the Sports Medicine Clinician to area clinics and hospitals.
  • Ensures supply and medication formularies are maintained at appropriate levels.
  • Coordinates with hospital imaging departments as needed.
  • Schedules patient visits, including coordination during provider hospital days.
  • Coordinates referrals for internal and external services.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow during clinic to ensure prompt service.
  • Obtains and documents vital signs, measurements, and laboratory tests accurately per protocol.
  • Obtains chief complaint and reason for visit using effective listening and communication skills.
  • Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness to support optimal clinic efficiency.
  • Assists the provider with procedures and examinations within scope of certification and training.
  • Independently completes concussion patient intake forms in accordance with established protocols.
  • Applies and removes casts independently, consistent with training, competency validation, and provider direction.
  • Independently fits orthopedic braces and supports as ordered by the provider.
  • Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH, CLIA, HRSA, NCQA PCMH and OSHA.

  • Proficient spelling necessary
  • Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
  • Proficient knowledge in computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
  • Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Bilingual speaking ability of English & Spanish required.
  • Must be able to travel within Northwest Arkansas

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) of orthopedic experience preferred.
