Job Summary

We are seeking a front desk Patient Coordinator for our Primary & Urgent Care Clinic at Elmdale Elementary in Springdale, AR. The Patient Coordinator - SBHC serves as the first point of contact for patients within the Clinic and assists in patient care under the direction of the provider, providing excellent primary health care to our patients. Must have strong computer skills, excellent communication, organizational ability, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Some experience working in a healthcare setting strongly preferred. Bilingual speaking ability of English & Spanish is required. The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service during all aspects of a patient visit to Community Clinic.
  • Responds to and directs incoming patient calls in a timely and courteous manner, maintaining professionalism and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ensures patient information is entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and updated regularly for all patients.
  • Ensures patient payments are collected, posted correctly to accounts, and collections are balanced daily.
  • Schedules patient appointments appropriately, based on patient needs, provider requests and approved scheduling guidelines.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment to ensure the professional appearance of the Clinic at all times.
  • Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.
  • Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
  • Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.
  • Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, HITECH, CLIA, HRSA, NCQA, PCMH, OSHA.

Skills

  • Ability to perform cash, check and credit card payment transactions with accuracy.
  • Proficient spelling necessary.
  • Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people all backgrounds.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
  • Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
