Job Summary
Community Clinic is seeking to hire an X-ray/Lab Technician (LLRT) for our Primary & Specialty Care Clinic in Fayetteville, AR on Citizens Drive. The X-ray/Lab Tech obtains and performs basic radiography and collects samples from patients so as to provide accurate measurement of patient status. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM position.
**This position is open to applicants who do not currently possess an LLRT license; however, they must be able to obtain a temporary license prior to accepting the position. The applicant must also obtain full LLRT licensure before the temporary license expires. The temporary license is valid for six (6) months, with one additional six-month extension available upon request through the state licensing authority. It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain the temporary license and request an extension if needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs basic radiography allowed by licensure or registration as ordered by provider per Clinic procedures.
- Assists with performing/managing applicable testing quality control and instrument maintenance.
- Assists as needed with transmitting, managing radiography images.
- Accurately positions patients and ensures that a quality diagnostic image can be produced.
- Monitors X-ray and lab orders to ensure all are completed in a timely manner and that issues are addressed.
- Assumes responsibility for collection of all blood, urine and throat swab specimens with assistance of licensed staff as needed.
- Collects all specimens according to CLIA, OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as indicated.
- Collects and manages specimens and reports according to Clinic policy.
- Performs waived lab tests ordered by provider per Clinic procedures or manufacturers’ instructions.
- Maintains supplies and equipment necessary for obtaining and processing laboratory specimens.
- Maintains sterile instruments using proper sterilization techniques and procedures.
- Maintains patient flow during clinic operations so as to assure prompt service for patients.
- Works to maintain licensure or registration in good standing, including keeping up with applicable continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- LLRT or equivalent licensure required
- Current Arkansas state licensure for Limited Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LLRT) license of radiography required.
- Temporary license accepted, but a permanent license is required before expiration.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of radiology experience preferred
- 1+ years of phlebotomy or lab experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds is necessary
