Job Summary

The APRN – Rheumatology provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. Working in collaboration with a supervising rheumatologist, this role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, with a strong emphasis on medication management, patient education, and care coordination. The APRN will manage a panel of patients, support infusion-based therapies as applicable, and contribute to quality and value-based care initiatives. This position is for a clinic in the Northwest Arkansas area and is a full-time, exempt role. Schedule will be approximately Monday-Friday 8-5. Malpractice coverage and student loan forgiveness available to qualified candidates.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical services as defined at the Community Clinic or through sites designated for the provision of health care services by the Clinic
  • Practices within the scope of competency as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Utilize established evidence-based clinical protocols.
  • Refers patients for specialized care when conditions fall outside of standard scope of practice of APRN or PA.
  • Cooperates with administrative duties such as: credentialing, clinic certifications, medical staff development, and representation within the community.
  • Ensures clinical notes are entered in the patient’s electronic medical record in an accurate and timely manner, according to industry standards and Community Clinic policy.
  • Assigns all patient and third party billing responsibility and resultant income to the Community Clinic.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement practices in the clinic, including, but is not limited to, chart and peer reviews.
  • Follows Clinic’s protocols and procedures for care and documentation.
  • Meets or exceeds minimum productivity expectations.
  • Adheres to the mission of Community Clinic, reinforces mission with staff, and promotes mission to the community.
  • Utilizes all Clinic resources to improve patient outcomes, including behavioral health consultants, Diabetic Educators, audiologists, etc.
  • Maintains continuing education at board-required levels.
  • Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH, CLIA, HRSA and OSHA.

Required qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing or higher degree
  • Active APRN license in the state of Arkansas
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • 2+ years of experience as a provider of Specialty care (Rheumatology preferred)

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience managing chronic disease populations
  • Familiarity with biologic therapies and medication monitoring protocols
  • Experience in infusion therapy or specialty medication management
  • Bilingual skills in either Spanish or Marshallese
