Job Summary
We are seeking a front desk Patient Coordinator for our School Based Health Clinic location in Springdale, AR. This position will report to our George Elementary SBHC location and will float to other School Based Health Clinic locations in the region to ensure coverage. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required. Must have strong computer skills, excellent communication, organizational ability, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Some experience working in a healthcare setting strongly preferred. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service during all aspects of a patient visit to Community Clinic.
- Ensures patient information is entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and updated regularly for all patients.
- Ensures patient payments are collected, posted correctly to accounts and collections are balanced daily.
- Schedules patient appointments
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
- Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
- Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.
Knowledge and critical skills
- Ability to perform cash, check and credit card payment transactions with accuracy.
- Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
- Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
- Ability to train, guide and monitor staff and new staff, act as a liaison for manager and assist with scheduling and coverage.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families and medical staff,
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds required.
- Customer service experience required
- Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Medical terminology and insurance verification experience preferred.
