Summary

Community Clinic is seeking to hire a Lab Tech for our clinic in Springdale, Arkansas. Applicants must have some Lab, Medical Assistant, or Phlebotomy experience. Prefer candidates who are bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Marshallese). This is a full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for collection of all blood, urine and throat swab specimens with assistance of licensed staff as needed.
    1. Collects all specimens according to CLIA, OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as indicated.
    2. Collects and manages specimens and reports according to clinic policy
  • Performs waived lab tests ordered by provider per clinic procedures or manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Assists with performing/managing applicable testing quality control and instrument maintenance.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment necessary for obtaining and processing laboratory specimens.
  • Maintains sterile instruments using proper sterilization techniques and procedures.
  • Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Medical Assistant or other appropriate certification required.
  • Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Formal or informal training preferred in performance of waived laboratory tests or phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Marshallese) preferred.
