Description
The incumbent is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support across City departments through the installation configuration, and maintenance of systems, hardware, software, and other related infrastructure. This role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Safety/Security Sensitive Designation: This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing.Job Duties

- Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
- Assist in providing technical support; support IT staff in responding to help desk tickets by gathering information, troubleshooting basic issues, and escalating more complex problems when needed.
- Set up and maintain workstations; help prepare desktop and laptop systems for deployment by installing software, connecting peripherals, and applying standard configurations under supervision of IT staff.
- Assist with inventory and documentation; track hardware/software assets, maintain logs, and help update documentation related to system configurations or troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in system testing; help test systems or applications after updates or installations to verify basic functionality.
- Assist in user training support; help prepare training materials and provide support during user training sessions.
- Support project work; participate in small-scale projects or project segments, such as organizing cables, labeling equipment, or setting up network drops under supervision.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality; follow department protocols for handling sensitive information and provide courteous support to all city staff.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

- Diploma or certification in Information Technology required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Experience or coursework related to audio and video equipment, applications, and techniques is a plus.
- Must be proficient in the use of desktop, hardware and software (Access points, printers, IP cameras, peripherals, etc.)
- Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects.
- Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities and the ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
Supplemental Information
Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
Must be able to pass FBI criminal background fingerprint check and have the ability to comply with state and federal requirements for criminal justice information security standards and obtain necessary certifications.
