Description
The incumbent is responsible to operate heavy equipment in performing repairs and new construction of City streets and ditches. The position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and new construction of Public Works buildings.
Safety/Security Sensitive Designation: This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing.Job Duties

- Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
- Perform building maintenance.
- Perform hot mixing operations.
- Perform snow removal operations.
- Operate heavy equipment.
- Perform street and general construction operations.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED plus specialized training and/or additional college courses and five years of related experience and/or training.
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to acquire a CDL within 6 months of initial hire date.
- Obtain necessary IMSA Work Zone certification(s) within 6 months of initial hire date.
- Must be proficient in the use of loaders, rollers, dozers, backhoes, brush hog, dump truck, work trucks, water truck, hand held power tools, table saw, radial arm saw, miter saw, and sand blaster.
- Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
Supplemental Information
Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
