The incumbent operates under the direct supervision of the Senior Center Director. Responsibilities include performing cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of the facility. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining proper inventory of janitorial supplies and may be required to perform outside maintenance as needed.

• Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
• Perform cleaning, maintenance and care of the center: Follow the approved cleaning schedule to complete designated maintenance tasks daily, weekly, bi-monthly, monthly and quarterly. Collaborate with the Director to adjust the cleaning schedule as needed. Promptly report any necessary repairs to the building or equipment.
• Maintain proper inventory of janitorial supplies: Keep the Director informed of supplies requiring replenishment. Ensure timely purchasing to prevent inventory shortages. Receive and stock janitorial supplies, maintain filled soap and towel dispensers, replace trash bags daily or as needed, and keep storage areas clean, organized, and orderly.
• Perform outdoor maintenance as directed by the Center Director: Conduct outdoor tasks such as watering grass and flowers, weed control, mowing, and trash removal as necessary.
• Assist the Food Service Manager as assigned: Support the food service staff with various duties, including food preparation tasks such as opening cans, transporting items from storage to the kitchen, performing dishwashing tasks, organizing stock, maintaining storage areas, and disposing of trash. Assist kitchen staff with monthly and general inventory recordkeeping as needed.
• Perform outside maintenance as deemed necessary by Center Director: outside maintenance may consist of watering grass and flowers, cutting weeds, mowing, trash pickup, etc.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and fire prevention standards: Ensure the facility remains in full compliance with all relevant safety, health, and fire regulations. Actively monitor for potential hazards and promptly report any issues or deficiencies to the Director to support a safe and well-maintained environment.
• Attend all job-related training sessions as required to maintain safety, compliance, and job performance standards.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

• High school diploma or relevant experience.
• Must possess knowledge of and proficiency in the use of standard kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ranges, convection ovens, food processors, and dishwashers
• Must be proficient in the use of vacuum cleaners, basic cleaning equipment, and standard tools.
• Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects.
• Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.

Must successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
