SUMMARY

The position is responsible for the daily operations of the Airport. Provide necessary services as directed by the Community Services Manager and refuel aircraft as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned as needed)

  1. Refueling aircraft.
  2. Marshall aircraft on ramp.
  3. Rotation for On- call 24 hours a day, 3-7 days a week
  4. Perform daily checks on lighting equipment, lamp replacement as necessary.
  5. Perform FOD (foreign object debris) checks daily.
  6. Have working knowledge of state and federal aviation regulations.
  7. Use computers, calculators, telephone key systems and cell phones.
  8. Use mechanical equipment of various types.
  9. Perform grounds, building and equipment maintenance duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, general public, and regulatory agencies.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (if required)

Must hold a valid driver’s license.

While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is exposed to outdoor weather conditions, and wet or humid conditions (non-weather related). The incumbent works in high precarious places, near moving mechanical parts, is at risk of electrical shock and/or vibration. The incumbent is exposed to fumes and airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

*Weather Essential position includes employees are declared to be all sworn police officers, all sworn firefighters, dispatchers, emergency road crew employees in the Street Department, and electrical personnel in the Electric Department.
