Essential Job Duties

  1. Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
  2. Provide clerical and administrative support by planning and organizing the day to day operations of the office.
  3. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  4. Perform entry of daily work orders and maintenance of databases to track work history and costs.
  5. Respond to city and public calls to the division, perform crew and field service representative dispatching, process Arkansas One Call requests.
  6. Effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers and the general public, both in person and over the telephone. Responses may require gathering utility benchmark or historical usage data and cost information; then providing the information in a user-friendly format such as a chart or spreadsheet.
  7. Research and respond to difficult customer problems and complaints. Provide solutions to issues identified to senior staff members.
  8. Answer phone and forward to appropriate department.
  9. Write basic correspondence for manager's signature and correspond with other departments and contractors.
  10. Prepare damage billing costs for contractors and customers.
  11. Organize and maintain departmental files, create and/or compile information for supervisor or manager.
  12. Communicate with billing collection office regarding cut offs and any billing information which they might need to obtain.
  13. Develop basic spreadsheets to quantify, analyze or communicate data.
  14. Perform filing function in an accurate manner.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience.
  2. Must possess a valid driver's license.
  3. Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
  4. Requires the use of tact, initiative and independent judgment in dealing with difficult citizen complaints, requests for assistance, information or services to the public.
  5. Must be proficient in the use of a computer utilizing word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must be able to become proficient in the use of the municipal management application and other software. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment.
  6. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities to accomplish computer and office work.
