Part Time Recreation Worker ( Run Bentonville)

Position Summary
The Recreation Worker: Races and Rides supports the Bentonville Parks & Recreation Run Bentonville Race Series, the Bentonville Half Marathon and Square 2 Square events. This part-time, year-round position assists the Recreation Supervisor of Races, Rides and Events with event preparation, packet pickup operations, race-day logistics, and equipment management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to work behind the scenes to ensure smooth, safe, and professional events for participants.
Work Schedule
- Year-round, averaging 10–15 hours per week (Monday–Friday, typically 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM; schedule is flexible to meet weekly hours).
- Increased hours during race/ride weeks:
- Must be available for all packet pickups, half marathon expo and all events.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee packet pickup logistics for all events.
- Assist with race-day course setup and takedown.
- Manage event inventory. Including packing, transporting, and restocking items.
- Help maintain organized storage of race equipment and supplies.
- Provide general operational support before, during, and after each event as assigned.
- Follow all Bentonville Parks & Recreation safety standards and City policies to ensure a safe and organized race environment.
Qualifications
- Race or event experience preferred but not required.
- Strong organization and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and flexible in a fast-paced event environment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and occasional climbing during course setup and takedown.
- Lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during events.
- Work environment is generally safe but may involve moving equipment, water stations, and other event materials.
High school Diploma or GED
