Position Overview: The Director of IT provides leadership and strategic direction for Circle of Life's technology operations and services. This position leads the organization's IT team, establishes priorities, manages resources, and ensures technology effectively supports the needs and goals of the organization. The Director partners with leadership across Circle of Life to evaluate opportunities, improve processes, manage technology initiatives, and ensure reliable, secure, and effective IT services. This role is responsible for building a strong IT function that supports organizational growth, innovation, and the delivery of quality services.

Required Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field (with a major in Computer Sciences, information systems, or computer information systems) is required. Master's degree is preferred. Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience preferably in healthcare. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams through change. Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations related to information storage and cyber security; specialized computer skills, including experience with operating systems, computer hardware, networking, AI applications. Excellent communication skills, with ability to assign work and monitor employee performance. Ability to process information and analyze data, abilities in deductive reasoning and oral and written expression; Ability to explain technical subjects to staff without technical expertise. Ability to direct the work of other IT professionals and contractors. Ability to plan and coordinate activities such as installing and upgrading hardware and software, programming and systems design, the implementation of computer networks, and the development of internet and intranet websites. Ability to analyze the computer and information needs of the organization from an operational and strategic perspective and determine immediate and long-range personnel and equipment requirements. Ability to assign and review the work of subordinates and stay abreast of the latest technology to ensure the organization's IT and IS needs are met. Excellent communication & presentation skills and the ability to provide technical training to end-users in the agency. 2+ year's prior experience in healthcare IT preferred.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Develops IS and IT infrastructure design and a strategic plan that accounts for future growth and technology evolution.
  2. Provide leadership and oversight to IT Manager and Software Specialist and ultimately all department personnel.
  3. Provide network design, installation, monitoring, management, and troubleshooting for WAN and LANs including main locations and remote sites.
  4. Ensure organization wide competency and knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of IT hardware and software systems, phone systems, building security systems, connectivity, and cellular phone operations.
  5. Implement and maintain a testing and education program to ensure network users are aware of network threats and how to avoid them.
  6. Develops and regularly reviews department budget and adjusts as needed.
  7. Regularly reviews and evaluates whether current infrastructure and applications are meeting the needs of the organization.
  8. Manages training and orientation content to ensure all network users are proficient with usage and security measures.
  9. Schedules upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems.
  10. Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources.
  11. Collaborate with Executive Team and other Managers to gain input on improving IS solutions and end-user equipment.
  12. Research and implement new systems and/or programs as needed.
  13. Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate, and ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal.
  14. Work with multiple vendors to obtain competitive pricing for goods and services.
  15. Regularly provides troubleshooting support to network users.
  16. Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients, families, co-workers, and members of the public.
  17. Represents Circle of Life to the community in a positive manner.
  18. Demonstrates flexibility, versatility and a positive attitude in integrating additional duties.
