REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES: Minimum 3 years in an administrative support role where scheduling, billing, and customer service exist as essential duties. Minimum 3 years in Caregiving role, whether professional or personal. Knowledge of Personal Care and ADL needs. Must be able to pass drug, background, and motor vehicle screening. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Other languages preferred. Must be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy. Must be able to implement boundaries and exhibit behaviors aligned with a human services role. Must have HS Diploma, or equivalent, with additional education preferred.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This position will serve a dual function, with 50% of the time dedicated to scheduling and administrative duties, and the remaining 50% providing direct caregiving support.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Creates and maintains staff schedules.
- Covers call offs/open shifts when needed, providing staffing for sick leave, vacation, long term leave.
- Take week-long call rotation with other staff designated for on-call.
- Schedules client appointments/visits according to care plans and staff availability.
- Enter scheduling data, staff and client information into database, and creates schedules, maintains database.
- Plays integral role in interfacing with caregiver staff in ensuring the proper caregiver and client match
- Contacts care providers and clients regarding day-to-day changes.
- Discerns client services required as outlined in agreements, urgent requests and care plans.
- Maintains call – in and retention report.
- Performs general office duties including but not limited to word processing, photocopies, files, shreds, sort/distributes mail, provides reception and telephone services.
- Ensure that all referrals are received in an accurate, detailed manner and are properly handled.
- Always maintains a positive demeanor and is able to effectively multitask in a high-functioning office environment.
- CNA certification with the ability to see clients in the field on occasion is a plus.
- Assist clients with personal care needs (activities of daily living) according to client care plan and as assigned by the supervisor.
- Support a safe and healthy living environment for clients, including housekeeping tasks and organizing to meet clients' needs.
- Work respectfully and cohesively with all outside providers involved in client care, including Hospice, Skilled Home Care, Assisted Living/Independent Living staff, and others.
- Support clients loved ones, building trust and providing superior customer service.
- Thoroughly document all relevant information related to client care.
- Appropriately report and document all incidents.
- Act quickly and responsibly in emergency situations.
- Prompt response to all communication from the supervisor or office staff.
- Accurately report all worked hours according to policy.
- Ensure infection control processes are followed including handwashing and universal precautions.
- Complies with HIPAA privacy rules.
- Responsible to inform supervisor if unsure of any practice/care before performing it.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Understands and adheres to established Circle of Life Personal Care policies and procedures.
